Origins[]
Born and raised in Gotham, Caliber was frequently surrounded by crime. At the tender age of 13 he witnessed his first murder. Brought up in a less than stellar home environment with an abusive father and inspired by the work of the Dark Knight himself, a 16 year old and inexperienced Caliber took to the streets to dish out his own form of brutal justice, sneaking out at night to put the beat-down on small time crooks, thugs and drug dealers using a variety of crude weaponry such as brass knuckles and switchblades. His vigilantism caught the attention of several gangs, and late one night he was nearly beat to death in an isolated back alley. This only further inspired his willingness to keep the streets safe.
Gaining His Powers[]
Now a hardened veteran of the streets 2 years later, Caliber happened to be among the group of humans who were affected by Future Lex Luthor's Exobyte Cloud. Upon exposure to the Exobytes, Caliber found himself with heightened reflexes and senses, making him an agile (yet inexperienced) fighter. Now realizing he had the tools and the means to do even more for his city, he trained himself in the way of basic martial arts and weaponry, familiarizing himself with the usage of precision pistols and rifles until he was almost a good a marksman as legendary villain Deadshot. It was here that he assigned the moniker of "Caliber" to himself.
Career[]
Interested in his technological abilities and combat capability, a covert and undercover Black Ops group dubbed "Ravenshield" recruited Caliber, utilizing his exobyte powers in undercover operations against super-powered threats around the globe. In the span of a few short months, Caliber became their best field operative, working closely within a squad with other covert agents designated as "Viking-1". Aside from completing numerous under the table operations underneath Ravenshield, Caliber was also in action independently, joining the fight against the Braniac Incursion alongside countless other heroes. His actions were acknowledged by Batman, who then made him an official member of the Justice League.
